NUNAN,
a group of five crazed madmen who have their roots lying in the surroundings of Brussels, Belgium, is the unholy alliance between Elgrandelgado (voice), Uncle Kurt (guitar), El Jefe (guitar), Monsieur Herald (drums) and Zsenomsky (bass).
According to some, their music shows influences from rock ‘n’ roll heroes of various eras, but that’s for you to find out. They’ll just keep it at pure and undiluted Nunan. What originated as the somewhat self-mocking “Bad Music for Ugly People” - an epithet they took as the name of their first demo, recorded in 2005 - grew out to be a fully developed and truly authentic sound. A new bass player, an extra guitar, victories in different competitions (stubru’s demopoll, Muurrockrally, etc…) and the final in Rockvonk 2005 later, they gave birth to their first full album: “Will You Dance?” (Wattson Records, February 2007). Still sauced with some inevitable irony, and still void of good manners and anything that reeks of “nice, clean, and sweet”. Electric howling, manic outbursts, dancing basses, fat drums, and a voice that hits you in the belly and below. Boisterous rock with a psychedelic roll, but also with a clear understanding of what is a good, genuine song.
On stage, these furious five produce enough energy to wake up the dead, and unchain the shackles of the living. A gig of Nunan casts you into a spiral of insane vibrations. Be prepared - but then again, not too much...
